After our October 2021 Annual Meeting, we were still looking for replacements for our outgoing board and thankfully, we received candidates and an online election survey was sent to current/paid HOA members to vote and the results are in! As most of you know, our HOA is governed by a board of volunteer directors and we are grateful to have neighbors who are willing to help oversee our community!
A big thank you to our outgoing President, Cindy Lutz! Also applause for our outgoing secretary, Matt Heller and Robert Freehill, outgoing at large board member. We appreciate your service over the last few terms.
Meet your new HOA Board for 2021/2022
President, Roy Smithers
I am an attorney having graduated from the University of Texas at Austin Law School in 1969. After graduating, I became a Special Agent of the FBI, serving in Salt Lake City and Kansas City. After three years I left the Bureau to return to Austin, working first for the Texas Governor’s Office, then the Texas Attorney General. I left government work after about ten years of service and entered into private practice. Currently, I am semi-retired, ceasing to handle lawsuits and just doing transactional law—wills, probates and contracts. I have volunteered for the last forty years with local, regional and national youth soccer associations. I am currently the chair for the South Texas Youth Soccer Rules Committee and the chair of the U.S. Youth Soccer Bylaws and Policies Committee and the Hall of Fame Committee. I enjoy watching soccer, have attended three World Cups and am a fan of the newly created MLS Austin FC team. I am married to my wife, Cheryl, for the last fifty-one years and we have three sons, Austin, Aaron and Adam and a new five-month old grandson, Shepard.

Hello Rambling Ridge! My husband Brad and I moved to Hendersonville 8 years ago. We have two children and five grandchildren. I am a retired sign language interpreter, working 30 years at the school for the deaf in Wilson NC then freelance interpreting for 8 years. We have two dogs, Shelly and Oliver. We love our neighborhood and hope you do too!

Hello! I’m a retired CPA from Chicago, including 25 years of corporate finance with multi international corporations. I also spent 10 years as an accounting instructor at the university and community college level. My wife, Judi, and I moved to Rambling Ridge nine years ago and enjoy spending time with our three dogs and the wonderful friends we have found in this community.

Hi, neighbors! I have lived here in Rambling Ridge for 6 years with my husband, Matt. Before living here, we dreamt of fresh air in the mountains, nature all around us and a community just like this one… and here we are! I work from home full time in the craft industry for 20 years and in my spare time, I’m a genealogy nut! I love to learn about history, including our area here. I am looking forward to serving the board and Rambling Ridgle community.

Hello! My husband, Crispy, and I retired to NC 3 years ago from Michigan. I worked in all levels of IT during my 30 year career. Today I enjoy cooking, interior design & decorating, thrifting & flipping and growing veggies. The Blue Ridge Parkway and Dupont Forest are two places we love to explore.

Hello, everyone! We moved here from Texas in 2008. My husband, John, and I are both retired. My daughter and her husband live near Asheville and our son in Texas. I enjoy gardening, crafting and cooking. We love living in Rambling Ridge because it is a wonderful, caring active community.

Hello Neighbors! My wife Susie and I moved here from Michigan about six months ago and I retired as a chemist two years ago. We have three daughters that all live away. We like hiking, kayaking, kayaking and golf. I am currently a student in AB Tech’s Culinary Program.
